INSTRUCTIONS FOR ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
It is stronly adviced to submit the abstracts as soon as possible before this date to avoid disappointment if the submission system is saturated. Abstracts must be in English.
Abstracts may be submitted for oral or poster presentations. The Programme Committee will select certain abstracts for oral presentation in the Concurrent Symposia. All other contributions will be presented as Posters. The options of the authors will be considered as far as possible.
INSTRUCTIONS
Please use the abstract form enclosed. Type the abstract within the grid provided. Do not type outside on or the blue frame, and do not include figures, tables or references. Use a 12 point typeface (Times New Roman) with clear characters and single space all typing. Only the abstract title should be typed in bold. Leave a blank line after the title, and start with a new line each for the authors and affiliation. Leave a blank line after the affiliation. Please do not underline or add any symbols or logos to the text. Spell out any abbreviation in full on the first mention, followed by the abbreviation in parentheses. The length of the abstract text (without title, authors and affiliations) should not exceed 200 words.
Please check the subject area of preference and the preferred presentation format, and complete carefully the name and address of the presenting author.
Send the original abstract form and a (virus-free) electronic copy with the file in format Word for Windows (PC-version) to the Secretatiat of the 14th ICC.
Abstract forms submitted without electronic copy cannot be considered for publication in the Abstract Book.

POSTER EXHIBITION and POSTER AWARDS
Poster viewing will be possible throughout the Conference, during the coffee breaks as well as during the entire afternoon of September 6, 2001 ("wine and cheese" poster viewing session) as a tasty alternative to the Sightseeing Tour.
The posters can be thoroughly discussed with their authors during the Poster Sessions 1 and 2 in the afternoons of September 5 and 7 (13:30-15:00).
The Programme Comittee will select the three most attractive and original posters whose first authors will receive an one-year-free subscription to the Journal CHROMOSOME RESEARCH.
The area of the poster panels measures 100 cm height x 100 cm width. Pins and adhesive material will be provided. Please use letters, figures and tables large enough to be viewed from a distance of 1.5 m.
Each participant can be the first author on one poster only, but may be co-author on posters presented by other colleagues. There is no limit to the number of times an individual may appear as co-author on posters.
The posters should be mounted by the presenters as soon as they arrive at the Conference Center, preferably on Tuesday, September 4, 2001 from 8:00-14:30.
Abstracts assigned for posters will receive a location number to be found on the poster walls. Posters should be removed on Saturday, September 8, 2001.
